IPTVSOSO – Classic channels back on the screen, and everything since

TiviMate with IPTVSOSO: a guide grid that shows the film slots coming up

TiviMate is the player that looks most like a cable box guide: live television keeps playing while a grid of channels against time fills the screen. For an IPTVSOSO subscriber who wants the classics back, that grid is the reason to choose it. A film is drawn as one wide block with its start time, so the afternoon film on TCM or an evening of drama repeats on ITV3 shows up hours ahead. Programs you can still replay appear in the grid on channels that carry catch-up, if your version marks them. The free version plays every channel and draws the full guide; TiviMate Premium brings favorites and group hiding, along with recording, multi-view and extra playlists; the first two are what shrink 25,000+ channels to a short list of your own. It runs on Android screens only.

Lined up before the first channel

  • A screen running Android: a Google TV or Android TV television, an Android box, or any Fire OS stick except the Fire TV Stick 4K Select
  • The IPTVSOSO server URL, username and password from your activation message
  • For Premium only: a phone with the TiviMate Companion app installed
  • Two or three channels to check with, such as ITV3, TCM and Hallmark Movies

No login in hand yet? The free 24-hour IPTVSOSO trial arrives as the same three details a paid term uses. The full price list sets out every length and screen count.

From standby to a familiar channel

  1. Pick the Xtream lines over the link and the portal

Your activation message carries one account in three shapes: three Xtream Codes lines, an M3U link with get.php in it, and, for set-top boxes only, a portal address. In TiviMate, use the Xtream lines. Entered that way, the app finds the program guide without being told where it is, and channels that keep an archive arrive flagged for catch-up. The M3U link plays the same channels but leaves you to supply the guide as a separate xmltv.php address. The portal address belongs to MAG and Formuler boxes, so leave it in the chat. Choose once, because the free version of TiviMate holds a single playlist.

    Line up an IPTVSOSO login

  2. Put it on an Android screen

Google Play carries TiviMate for televisions running Android TV or Google TV and for Android set-top boxes. On an Amazon stick with Fire OS, install Downloader first and fetch TiviMate through it; the Firestick guide shows each press. Two kinds of screen are ruled out. Amazon’s Fire TV Stick 4K Select is built on Vega OS, which refuses anything sideloaded, and Apple TV, Samsung and LG televisions have no TiviMate at all. On those, IPTV Smarters Pro or Smart IPTV take the same IPTVSOSO details.

  3. Add the playlist and trim only what you are sure of

From the start screen pick Add playlist and the Xtream Codes login type. The server URL goes in first, beginning with http:// and finishing on its port number, then the username and the password, each exactly as the chat shows it, capitals included. Press Next and name the playlist. A screen of channel groups follows, each with a tick box. Untick only groups nobody will open, such as languages no one at home speaks. Keep anything labeled for movies, entertainment, kids or the UK: the film channels, the repeat channels and the cartoon channels are likely to be there. A group left out now can be switched back on later.

  4. Read the grid the way you read a listings page

Open the guide. Each row is a channel and time runs from left to right, so a two-hour film fills a wide block from its start to its finish while a half-hour sitcom repeat takes a narrow one. Select a block to see its description, if your version shows one, and move forward a day or two to see the weekend’s films before they arrive. Then go to Settings and set the listings to update automatically at least once a day, so the blocks stay accurate. If every start time looks an hour or more out, the device’s time zone is wrong, not the guide.

  5. Weigh what Premium would change

Everything so far is free. TiviMate Premium is sold by TiviMate’s developer, not by IPTVSOSO: you buy it on a phone in the TiviMate Companion app, then log in to that Premium account from the settings of TiviMate on the television. It adds five things. Favorites and group hiding turn a long list into a short classics line-up. Recording keeps a film from a channel that has no catch-up. Multi-view puts two or more channels on screen at once, each using one of your plan’s connections. Multiple playlists matter only if you hold more than one account. If you already reach your channels by number on the remote, the free version may be enough.

  6. Shrink the list to a classics line-up

With Premium on, hide every group nobody watches from that group’s own menu, which in most versions opens with a long press on its name. Then add favorites channel by channel from each channel’s menu: TCM for classic films; MoviePlex and Starz Encore, known for films from earlier decades; Hallmark Movies for TV movies; Gold and Dave for comedy repeats; ITV3 for drama repeats; Boomerang, known for older cartoons. TiviMate gathers favorites into a group of their own, which gives you a guide made of just those rows. On the free version, jot down the channel numbers of the same set and type them on the remote.

  7. Go back for a film that has already started

Scroll left in the grid to a film that began a while ago. On channels that carry catch-up, a program already aired can be opened and played from its first minute, if your version marks it as available; not every channel keeps an archive, and those that do set their own limits. Where there is none, Premium recording is the remedy for next time: select a future block and set it to record. A recording is a stream in its own right, so recording one channel while you watch another needs a plan with two connections or more.

  8. Check the setup on ITV3

Find ITV3 among the UK channels, or tap in its number, and play it until the picture is steady; it is a drama-repeats channel, so the format is obvious within a minute. Star it if Premium is active; without Premium, write its channel number down. Then move to its row in the grid and read the next block, its title and start time. Then back out to the groups and confirm your favorites group sits where you placed it. A steady picture, a saved channel and a readable listing mean TiviMate is set up, and a second Android screen takes the same three lines.

TiviMate faults, traced back to the cause

A channel plays, but its row in the grid is empty

Force the guide to update from Settings, wait until it finishes, then restart TiviMate. If the row fills, the earlier download was incomplete. If it stays blank while the rows above and below are full, that channel arrives without listings, and no player can show its schedule ahead of time. It still plays normally; for its timings, the channel’s own on-screen announcements are the fallback.

A whole group vanished after tidying the list

Here is how it usually happens: the groups you never watch were hidden in one sitting, and Gold and Dave went with them because they sat in a UK group whose name you did not recognize. Hiding a group hides every channel inside it. Open the playlist settings, find the list of groups, switch the hidden ones back on and look inside each before hiding it again. Favorites shape the guide more safely than heavy hiding does.

The other TV stopped when a recording began

Say the plan has one connection, a film was set to record on Hallmark Movies, and someone else was watching TCM in the kitchen. The recording opened a second stream and the plan allows one, so one of them had to stop. Record only what you are already watching, keep recordings for times when no one else is viewing, or move to a plan with more connections; two, three and five are available on every term.

The film started an hour ago and there is no replay mark

That channel does not carry catch-up, or not for that program, so there is no archive to open. Check the grid for a later airing, since film channels often schedule a title more than once in a week, and set a reminder or, on Premium, a recording for it, if your version offers them. For anything you want on your own schedule, a player with an on-demand section, such as IPTV Smarters Pro, opens the library side of the subscription.

A fault that follows you from one screen to the next usually lives in the login or the connection rather than in this player, and the IPTVSOSO troubleshooting page works through those causes one at a time.

TiviMate and IPTVSOSO, answered briefly

Does IPTVSOSO work with TiviMate?

Yes. Accounts are issued as Xtream Codes details, which TiviMate accepts under Add playlist, so the channels and their guide listings load together, with catch-up flags on the channels that keep an archive. TiviMate is built around live TV; for the on-demand library, a player with separate Movies and Series sections suits better. How the IPTVSOSO program guide works is explained on its own page.

Do I need TiviMate Premium to watch IPTVSOSO?

No. Without Premium, every channel still plays and the whole guide grid still draws. Premium, bought from TiviMate’s developer through the Companion app, unlocks favorites and group hiding, plus recording, multi-view and extra playlists. For someone who mostly wants the film and repeat channels, the deciding features are usually favorites and recording; if you reach a handful of channels by number, the free version does the job.

Can I watch IPTVSOSO in TiviMate on an iPhone or a Samsung TV?

No, because TiviMate is made for Android screens alone: Google TV and Android TV televisions, Android boxes, and Fire OS sticks other than the Fire TV Stick 4K Select. On an iPhone or Apple TV, use Smarters Player Lite; on a Samsung or LG set, use Smart IPTV, or Smarters where your model’s store lists it. The same three details work in each of them.

Does TiviMate show catch-up for IPTVSOSO channels?

On the channels that carry catch-up, yes: past programs can be opened from the grid and played from the beginning, if your version marks them. Not every channel keeps an archive, and how far back it reaches varies by channel, so look at the grid on the channels you care about. Catch-up on IPTVSOSO has its own page with the details for other players.
