Lined up before the first channel
- An Apple TV (HD or 4K), or any iPhone or iPad running a current iOS or iPadOS
- Your Apple ID, signed in to the App Store
- Your IPTVSOSO username, password and server URL, plus the M3U link
- The iPhone within reach of the Apple TV, if you want to type with it
No login in hand yet? The free 24-hour IPTVSOSO trial arrives as the same three details a paid term uses. The full price list sets out every length and screen count.
From standby to a familiar channel
Free Smarters Player Lite, or paid iPlayTV?
Smarters Player Lite costs nothing, signs in with the Xtream Codes details and lays out live channels, films and series in separate sections with the guide attached. iPlayTV is a one-off purchase, made for Apple devices only, and accepts the M3U link; people pick it for its tidy channel list. If you are unsure, begin with the free app. The same IPTVSOSO login works in both, so changing your mind later costs nothing beyond the price of iPlayTV.
Install the player on the Apple TV
On the Apple TV, open the App Store, choose Search and look the player up by name. Check the developer line before installing, since look-alike names are common in this corner of the store. Install it, then open it once from the home screen so it can show its sign-in screen.
Let the iPhone do the typing
When the player asks for the server URL, a keyboard prompt pops up on any iPhone using the same Apple ID; tap it and type, or paste, on the phone instead of the television. If no notification appears, open Control Center on the iPhone and use the Apple TV Remote there, which offers the same keyboard. Copying each value from the WhatsApp message and pasting it removes the risk of a typo.
Sign in and let the list load
In Smarters Player Lite choose the Xtream Codes login and enter the server URL with its http:// and port, then the username and password, exactly as sent. In iPlayTV, add a playlist and paste the M3U link. Either way the first load gathers every channel group and the listings, so wait until the groups stop appearing before you start browsing.
Add the same player to the iPhone or iPad
On the phone or tablet the same player installs from the App Store, and the sign-in is quicker because you can paste each value straight from the chat. Installing on several devices does not use up a connection; only streams playing at the same moment count against the plan. A phone set up this way is useful for a quick check of what is on a film channel before you reach for the TV remote.
Move the player into the top row
On the Apple TV home screen, hold the clickpad on the player’s icon until the icons start to jiggle, then slide it into the top row and click once to drop it. The top row is where the remote lands after waking the Apple TV, so the player becomes the first thing you can open. If the player supports it, the space above the row may also show its content.
Check one classics channel on each screen
On the Apple TV, search for TCM or Hallmark Movies, add it to favorites from the channel’s options, and play it for a minute to confirm picture and sound. Open the guide on that channel and find when the next film starts. Then add the same favorite on the iPhone, because each device keeps its own list. A channel that plays, a favorite that sticks and a guide row showing the evening’s films mean the setup is finished.
Apple TV and iPhone faults, traced back to the cause
The App Store shows several players with near-identical names
Search results fill with apps whose names imitate better-known ones. Check the developer line on each listing before installing. Anything claiming to be TiviMate on Apple hardware is not the real thing, because TiviMate makes no Apple app, and nothing in the store named IPTVSOSO comes from this service either.
Sound plays but the picture stays black on one channel
Apple devices decode a narrower range of video formats than some Android players. If one channel shows black while others play, the player’s settings may offer a choice of playback engine; switching it often brings the picture back. If the channel still fails, send its name in the chat so the feed can be checked; the rest of the line-up is unaffected.
An older film looks tiny in the middle of the iPhone
A 4:3 picture on a tall phone held upright leaves most of the display empty. Turn the phone sideways first. If the player offers a fill or zoom control, use it sparingly: filling the width of a modern phone crops the top and bottom of an older frame, which can cut off heads in close-ups.
AirPlay shows the picture but no guide or channel list
AirPlay sends the video, not the player’s menus, so the guide and the channel list stay on the phone. That is fine for a single film. For an evening of moving between channels, the player installed on the Apple TV itself is far easier, because the remote and the guide are both on the big screen.
Pasted details are refused
A paste can carry an invisible space at the end of the value, and the server then reads that space as part of the password or username. Tap at the end of each field and delete anything after the last visible character, then try again. If you typed rather than pasted, check that the keyboard did not capitalize the first letter of the username on its own.
A fault that follows you from one screen to the next usually lives in the login or the connection rather than in this hardware, and the IPTVSOSO troubleshooting page works through those causes one at a time.
Player guides that go with the Apple TV and iPhone
Xtream Codes login
IPTVSOSO sends three Xtream Codes lines on WhatsApp: where each goes in Smarters, TiviMate or MyTVOnline, and what they bring besides 25,000+ channels.
IPTV Smarters Pro
IPTVSOSO in IPTV Smarters Pro: sign in with Xtream Codes, find TCM, Gold or ITV3 among 25,000+ channels, star them, then browse older films on demand.

Apple TV and iPhone and IPTVSOSO, answered briefly
Can I watch IPTVSOSO on an iPhone?
Yes. Install Smarters Player Lite or iPlayTV from the App Store, sign in with the details from WhatsApp, and the channels, the guide and the on-demand sections are all on the phone. It suits a quick look at a film channel or a comedy repeat during a lunch break, and an iPad works the same way with a larger picture.
Can I get TiviMate on an Apple TV?
No. TiviMate is made for Android-based devices only, and the similar-looking listings in the App Store are unrelated apps. On Apple hardware the options are Smarters Player Lite, which is free, and iPlayTV, which costs a one-off fee. If TiviMate’s grid guide is what you want, a Google TV device or a Fire OS stick on the same television runs it with the same login.
Will an IPTVSOSO plan cover an Apple TV and two iPhones?
Yes for installations, which are unlimited; what a plan counts is streams running together. On a one-connection plan, one of the three can stream at a time. If the Apple TV and a phone will often play together, a two-connection plan matches that, and five connections cover a full household.
Can I AirPlay IPTVSOSO from my iPhone to the TV?
Usually yes, provided the player shows the AirPlay icon during playback: the picture jumps to an Apple TV, or to a television with AirPlay built in, sharing your Wi-Fi. It counts as one stream, since the phone is still the device playing. For regular evenings the player installed on the Apple TV is easier, because the guide, which the IPTVSOSO TV guide page explains, stays on the big screen.
