IPTVSOSO – Classic channels back on the screen, and everything since

Smart IPTV and IPTVSOSO: film and repeat channels straight on your Samsung or LG set

Smart IPTV runs on the television itself, which suits a living room where the set is the only box anyone wants to see. It is a small, quick app that reads a playlist and little else: groups down one side, channels inside each, a guide panel for whatever is playing, and a favorites list if your version offers one. It has no username and password form. You give it the IPTVSOSO M3U link from a phone or computer, on a page of the developer’s website, entered against the MAC address the app displays. When its free period ends, the app wants a one-time activation of that particular television, bought from the developer; it is a separate purchase from your subscription. Whether you get catch-up, a choice of audio tracks or subtitles depends on the version you have. And older films and shows still look as they were made, in SD or HD: a 4K set scales them up but cannot make them 4K.

Lined up before the first channel

  • A television that qualifies: Samsung from model year 2022 on (Tizen 6.5 or newer), or LG with webOS 3.0 or newer
  • The IPTVSOSO M3U link from your WhatsApp activation message
  • A browser on a phone or laptop, to reach the upload page
  • The app’s own activation, paid to its developer once the trial is over

No login in hand yet? The free 24-hour IPTVSOSO trial arrives as the same three details a paid term uses. The full price list sets out every length and screen count.

From standby to a familiar channel

  1. Check two things first: the format and the year

Smart IPTV reads the M3U link and nothing else; there is no form for the Xtream Codes lines and no box for a portal. That is no loss for live television, since the film channels, the comedy and drama repeats and their listings all work from a playlist. What it lacks is the separate Movies and Series shelves an Xtream player builds from the on-demand library, so if those matter, look for IPTV Smarters Pro in the TV’s store or add a streaming stick to a spare HDMI port. Then check the set’s age: the app is offered on Samsung televisions from the 2022 model year (Tizen 6.5 and later) and on LG televisions with webOS 3.0 or later. The model and software version are in the TV’s settings.

    Line up an IPTVSOSO login

  2. Open the app once and photograph its first screen

Install Smart IPTV from the television’s own store and start it. It opens on a screen that shows a MAC address with a short note, and that address, exactly as the app shows it, is the key the upload page will ask for. Snap a picture of the screen with your phone so you are not copying it from memory later, then leave the app where it is while you do the next step.

  3. Hand the link to the developer’s page, then restart the set

This part happens away from the television. In a phone or laptop browser, go to the playlist page of the Smart IPTV developer’s site; the app’s opening screen names it. The form wants two things: the MAC from your photo, typed with its colons, and the link. Paste the IPTVSOSO M3U link whole; it is long, with get.php, your username and your password inside it. If the page offers to keep the playlist stored online, accept, so the set reloads it at every start. If it asks for an EPG address, the xmltv.php address for your account goes there, and the chat can send it ready-made. Submit, then turn the television off and on and open the app: channel groups replace the MAC screen when the upload has worked.

  4. Walk the groups to the film and repeat channels

Move through the groups with the remote. The classics-format channels are spread over a few of them: TCM, MoviePlex, Starz Encore, Hallmark Movies, HBO Signature, Epix / MGM+, Sundance and IFC with the US film channels; Gold, Dave, ITV3 and ITV4 with the UK ones; Boomerang with the children’s channels; MTV and VH1 with music, bearing in mind that what music channels show now differs from what they once did. Group names vary between lists, so read the labels rather than expecting a fixed order, and note the group and position of each channel you want as you pass it.

  5. Keep a short list, as favorites or as positions

If your version offers favorites, add the channels you noted, usually from an options key while the channel is highlighted. Seven is a good number: TCM for classic films, Starz Encore and MoviePlex, known for films from earlier decades, Hallmark Movies, Gold, ITV3 and Boomerang. Without favorites, the notes from the last step do the same job, since a channel usually keeps its place in its group. Either way, switching on the set and reaching the Sunday-afternoon film slot should take seconds rather than a scroll through 25,000+ channels.

  6. Use the guide panel to catch films from the start

While a channel plays, the guide panel shows what is on and what follows, with start times, as long as the guide address went in during the upload. Check it before a film rather than during it. Catch-up, where a channel carries it and your version supports it, lets you start a program that has already begun; where it does not, the guide is your only warning. Expect older programs to look softer than new ones and, on many older shows, to sit in a squarer frame with bars at the sides. That is the source, not a fault, and a 4K television does not change it.

  7. Plan for the app’s activation

Once its free period is over, Smart IPTV stops and asks to be activated. The activation is bought from the app’s developer, on their website, at whatever price they set, and it is tied to that television’s MAC, so a second set with the app means a second purchase. None of this passes through IPTVSOSO. Your plan is paid in the WhatsApp chat and does not renew by itself, while the activation is a one-time matter between you and the developer. If you are still deciding, use the 24-hour free trial to see whether this app suits the set.

  8. Verify on Hallmark Movies

Go to Hallmark Movies, a channel of TV movies, and let it play until the picture is steady. Add it to favorites, or note its position if your version has none. Open the guide panel and read what comes on next, and at what time. When the channel plays, can be reached again in seconds and shows a listing, the set is ready; trouble with any one of the three points to the stream, the list or the guide address respectively.

Smart IPTV faults, traced back to the cause

The MAC screen is still showing after the upload

Two causes cover most cases. Either the MAC on the upload page differs from the one in the app by a single character, a 0 typed for a D or a B for an 8, or the app was only sent to the background instead of being closed. Check the photo against what you typed, upload again if needed, then switch the television fully off and on before reopening the app.

A 2020 Samsung cannot find Smart IPTV in its store

The app is offered to Samsung televisions from the 2022 model year, running Tizen 6.5 or later, so an older set will not list it however you search. Nothing is wrong with the TV. Check the Samsung guide for the routes that do suit it, or plug a streaming stick into a free HDMI port and run IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate from the stick.

Channels play, but the guide panel is blank

The playlist reached the TV and the guide address did not. Return to the upload page, enter the same MAC, and fill the EPG field with the xmltv.php address for your account, if the page offers one; the chat will send it. Re-send, restart the set and give the guide a little time to fill. If some channels show listings and others never do, those others arrive without guide data and cannot show a schedule in any app.

The app wants activating and the plan was only just paid

They are two payments to two different parties. The plan you paid in the chat covers the channels; the request on screen comes from Smart IPTV’s developer and covers the app on that television. Paying one never covers the other. If you would rather not buy the app activation, IPTV Smarters Pro from the TV store, where your model has it, or a streaming stick avoids it.

A fault that follows you from one screen to the next usually lives in the login or the connection rather than in this player, and the IPTVSOSO troubleshooting page works through those causes one at a time.

Other ways in with the same IPTVSOSO login

Bring an IPTVSOSO login to the player

Twelve months cost $69, or start with one at $15. Either way you get 25,000+ live channels and 120,000+ films and series, with activation in under 15 minutes.

Smart IPTV and IPTVSOSO, answered briefly

Does IPTVSOSO work with Smart IPTV on a Samsung TV?

Yes, on Samsung sets from model year 2022 (Tizen 6.5 upward) and on LG sets with webOS 3.0 upward. Send your M3U link through the developer’s upload page against the MAC the app shows, restart the set, and the channel groups load. The live channels, the film and repeat channels among them, all work through the playlist.

Do I pay IPTVSOSO for the Smart IPTV activation?

No. The activation is sold by the app’s developer and covers the app on one television, and none of that money comes to us. Your subscription is a separate payment made in the WhatsApp chat, from $15 for a month on one connection, and it never renews by itself.

Can Smart IPTV show the IPTVSOSO movies and series library?

Not as separate Movies and Series sections, which are built by players that take an Xtream Codes login. Smart IPTV is a playlist player, so it is at its best with the live channels. To browse the on-demand side, use IPTV Smarters Pro where your TV store has it, or a stick running Smarters or another Xtream player on the same set.

Will old films look better on a 4K TV with IPTVSOSO?

They look as good as their source, which for older films and shows is SD or HD. A 4K television scales the picture to fill its screen, which can make it look cleaner, but it does not turn an SD broadcast into 4K. Where 4K pays off is modern sport and new releases. What IPTVSOSO 4K is really for is explained on its own page.
