IPTVSOSO catch-up is replay for live channels. On each channel set up for it, the server keeps hold of the last stretch of broadcast, and a player that understands catch-up can request any program inside that stretch and play it from the beginning. Every plan includes it, next to 25,000+ live channels and 120,000+ titles on demand.
Two limits apply: not every channel supports catch-up, and each one that does holds its past programs for a length of time of its own, so no fixed count of days is quoted here. For anyone fond of the older channels, it pays off at two moments: a film that began before you sat down, and a repeat you meant to catch.
The Sunday film, already an hour in
Picture a Sunday. A channel built around classic films, TCM for instance, began a film at 2 p.m., and you switch on at 3. Live, you arrive halfway through and spend twenty minutes working out who everyone is. With catch-up the hour is not lost, if the channel supports replay and your player can use it.
- Open the program guide on that channel’s row and find the 2 p.m. entry, the film still on air.
- Select it and choose to play from the beginning. Some players offer this while a program is still airing; others only after it ends.
- The film opens on its first scene, an hour behind the live broadcast, so it finishes an hour after the time the guide shows.
If nothing plays, that channel probably has no catch-up; look for the title later in the week, or search the on-demand library. The routine is identical for the cartoon block on a channel such as Boomerang, known for older cartoons, on a weekend when you sleep through the morning slot.
What replay will and will not do
| Catch-up does | Catch-up does not |
|---|---|
| Bring back recent programs on the channels set up for it | Cover every channel, or reach a set number of days into the past |
| Stream from the server while you watch, with nothing stored at home | Work offline, or leave you a copy to keep |
| Play the broadcast exactly as it aired, at the quality the channel sent | Turn an SD or HD film into a 4K one |
| Take one connection from your plan while it plays, like a live channel | Run beside another stream on a one-connection plan |
IPTVSOSO channels worth checking for replay first
Start with the channels whose whole format is the past, where a missed slot hurts most.
| Format | Channels to look for | What a replay rescues |
|---|---|---|
| Classic films | TCM | A film already well under way when you switch on |
| Films from earlier decades | MoviePlex and Starz Encore, both known for them | A film you only caught the last half hour of |
| Film channels | HBO Signature, Epix / MGM+, Sundance, IFC | A late film you would rather begin fresh the next evening |
| TV movies | Hallmark, Hallmark Movies | The afternoon movie that clashed with something else |
| Comedy repeats (UK) | Gold, Dave | The episode before the one now showing |
| Drama repeats (UK) | ITV3 | A repeat that aired while you were out |
| Older cartoons | Boomerang, known for them | Saturday-morning cartoons for a Saturday-afternoon viewer |
| Music | MTV, VH1 (what they air today differs from their past) | Whatever ran while you were out |
None of these is promised to carry catch-up: which channels support it is decided one by one and can change. Your player gives the dependable answer with your own login, and support on WhatsApp can check a named channel. For where each sits in the line-up and how to gather them into one favorites list, see the IPTVSOSO classic channels.
A missed re-run: replay it, or wait for the next airing?
A channel of comedy repeats behaves differently from a film channel. Episodes come round again, so the one you missed may well return, and the program guide shows whether it does this week. Catch-up is quicker when you want that episode now, before the next one in the run begins.
Order matters more with drama. Following a run of repeats on ITV3 one episode a night, a missed evening breaks the chain; replay mends it while the episode is still held. Those UK slots aired on UK time, which the guide converts to your clock; the page on reading the IPTVSOSO TV guide covers getting that right. For a series you would rather start at episode one, search the on-demand library, where series are split into seasons and nothing depends on a broadcast time.
How players show catch-up
Whether replay appears at all depends on the player, and on how your login was entered. An IPTVSOSO subscription arrives in two forms: the Xtream Codes details (server URL, username and password) and an M3U link. Entered as Xtream Codes, the account normally carries what a player uses to decide which channels can replay. Loaded from the M3U link, that detail often goes missing, and replay then shows up nowhere. If you used the link, redo the sign-in using the Xtream Codes sign-in guide.
- TiviMate is built around live TV and its guide, so that is where replay lives. In recent versions, channels that support it carry a small icon in the grid, and a finished program on one of them can be highlighted and played. Adding your login is covered in the IPTVSOSO TiviMate setup.
- IPTV Smarters Pro differs by version. Some builds add a Catch Up area to the home screen, next to the Live TV, Movies and Series tiles, where you pick channel, day and program; in others, past programs open from the guide layout of Live TV. The IPTV Smarters Pro walkthrough covers the sign-in.
- Other players are uneven; a few draw past listings they cannot open. Test the same login in one of the two above before writing a channel off.
The device matters less than the player; for a Fire OS stick, follow the steps to set up IPTVSOSO on a Firestick.
Picture quality on a replayed older film
A replay is the channel’s own broadcast, at whatever quality the channel sent it. An older film or series aired in SD or HD comes back in SD or HD; catch-up does not change it, and neither do the 4K channels elsewhere in the plan. Your TV scales the picture to fill the screen, which is why an older film looks softer on a large set than a new one. 4K pays off on modern sport and new releases, as the page on IPTVSOSO 4K feeds explains.
Testing replay during the IPTVSOSO free trial
Catch-up takes one evening to verify, so verify it before you pay; the 24-hour IPTVSOSO free trial includes it.
- Pick three channels you would want to rewind: a film channel, a comedy-repeat channel, a cartoon channel.
- Enter the trial login as Xtream Codes details in TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro.
- Look for the replay icon on each, then open something that finished this morning and check it begins at the minute the guide gives. A mid-scene start means the device clock or time zone needs correcting.
- Ask support on WhatsApp about any channel without the icon; they can say whether replay is set up for it at present.
If the live channels themselves refuse to play, catch-up is not the problem: work through what to check when IPTVSOSO is not working.
Rewind one film before you pay
Replay is switched on for trial logins too, wherever a channel supports it. Ask for yours in the WhatsApp chat.
Asked about IPTVSOSO catch-up
Does IPTVSOSO have catch-up TV?
Yes. Catch-up is part of every IPTVSOSO plan and costs nothing extra, but it applies only to the channels set up for it. There, a player with replay can bring back a recent program and run it from the start. Channels without it still list what they showed earlier in the day; choosing one of those old listings simply plays nothing.
How many days back does IPTVSOSO catch-up go?
No single figure covers the line-up. Every channel that supports replay holds its own stretch of recent broadcasts, the oldest programs fall off as new ones are added, and the length is configured channel by channel and can change. Treat catch-up as a way to recover something recent, and check the one channel you care about with your own login.
Can I restart a film that already began on IPTVSOSO?
Usually, as long as the channel airing it supports catch-up and your player offers replay. Find the film’s entry on that channel’s row in the program guide and select it to play from the beginning. Some players replay a program only once it has finished on air; with those, join the film live and catch the opening afterward.
Why is there no replay option on my IPTVSOSO channels?
Most often because the account went into the player as an M3U link. Re-enter it with the Xtream Codes details (server URL, username and password) and the replay icons normally appear wherever catch-up exists. If they still do not, the player may simply lack the feature, so compare with TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro.
Can I watch a comedy repeat I missed on IPTVSOSO?
Often, yes, if the channel that aired it supports catch-up and the episode is still being held. Select it in the guide. Repeat channels also tend to bring episodes round again, so look for a later airing, or search the on-demand library for the whole series.
Does IPTVSOSO catch-up work on a Firestick?
Yes, if the player you install supports replay; the stick plays no part in it. On Fire OS models, TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro go on through the Downloader app. The Fire TV Stick 4K Select runs Vega OS and cannot sideload, so a player installed that way will not go on it.
