IPTVSOSO – Classic channels back on the screen, and everything since

IPTVSOSO DMCA procedure for rights holders

Anyone who owns a copyright, or represents someone who does, can report material on the service that they believe infringes it. The hardest part with a streaming service is pointing to the material, so this page starts there, then lists what a notice must contain and what happens after it arrives.

IPTVSOSO produces none of the channels or titles reachable through its logins and claims no rights in any of them. Notices may rely on the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) or on a comparable law elsewhere; they all take the same route.

Pointing to the material

Channels and titles on the service have no public web address, so a link cannot identify them. Instead, give these details:

  • Live channel: the name a player shows for it, the group or country heading it sits under, and when the broadcast concerned went out, with the time zone.
  • On-demand title: the title as the library lists it, plus the season and episode numbers when it is a series rather than a film.
  • Text or images on this website: the full address of the page and a description of the passage or picture.

What a notice must contain

Section 512(c)(3) of the Act sets six elements. A notice missing any of them cannot be acted on, and the reply to it names what is absent.

The six elements of a takedown notice
ElementWhat to include
SignatureSigned by the holder of the exclusive right in question, or by someone entitled to act for that holder; an electronic signature counts.
The workWhich copyrighted work is affected. When one notice covers many works, a representative list will do.
The materialWhich channel, title or page carries the alleged infringement, described well enough for it to be found (see the section above).
Contact detailsHow to reach you: postal address, phone number and, where you have one, email.
Good faithYour statement that you believe, in good faith, the use you object to has been permitted by no one: not the copyright owner, not its agent, not the law.
AccuracyYour statement that everything in the notice is correct, and your declaration under penalty of perjury that the right is yours or that you represent its owner.

Where to send it

Notices go to the IPTVSOSO WhatsApp number, +212 663 813 479, and should open with the words “Copyright notice”. A notice typed straight into the chat is accepted, and so is a signed letter sent as a PDF or photographed. Starting from a form instead? The IPTVSOSO contact form opens the same conversation.

There is no IPTVSOSO entry in the US Copyright Office’s directory of designated agents. The people who run the service read and handle notices themselves, through the routes above.

What happens next

Timeline after a notice arrives
StageTiming
ReceiptConfirmed to you within 2 business days
Complete noticeWithin 5 business days, the material is taken down or blocked
Incomplete noticeA reply listing the missing elements; the 5 business days then count from the day the missing parts arrive

Answering a removal: the counter-notice

Anyone who believes material was taken down by mistake or misidentification can reply with a counter-notice through the same route. Under section 512(g)(3) it has to give the sender’s name, address and telephone number; identify the material removed and where it was before removal; declare, under penalty of perjury, that the sender believes in good faith the removal was a mistake or a misidentification; and carry the sender’s handwritten or electronic signature.

Two further statements complete it: that the sender accepts the jurisdiction of the US federal district court whose district includes the sender’s address (with an address outside the United States, any district where IPTVSOSO may be found), and that the sender will accept service of process from whoever sent the original notice, or from that person’s agent.

Logins used to redistribute

Logins caught recording channels to stream them on elsewhere are closed without a refund, and so are logins that keep turning up in notices that prove valid. The IPTVSOSO terms of use provide for both.

Claims that are not true

A notice or counter-notice that knowingly and materially misstates the facts, about infringement or about a mistaken removal, can leave its sender owing the resulting damages, costs and attorneys’ fees included, under section 512(f). Unsure whether a use infringes? Take legal advice before sending anything; this page describes a procedure and is not legal advice.

If a clause reads two ways

Pick the heading that puzzles you and send it, with your question underneath, to our team on WhatsApp at +212 663 813 479.

A reply names the passage it relies on. Prefer a form? The contact page starts the same conversation.

The same rules are split across five pages. Besides this one:

  • Privacy policy: every copy of what you send us, who holds it and when it is deleted
  • Refund policy: the 7-day money-back guarantee, from the trial to the refund
  • Disclaimer: how far each kind of statement on this website reaches
